SPOILER ALERT!

Turns out that Angelica (as an adult) is the narrator throughout the book, something that is slowly revealed and then verified by the part four when she takes the floor to tell the tale.

Rather than clarifying anything, her memories and dismemories and fantasies muddle the issue further. Particularly when you find out she's writing this childhood story for her shrink, making you question her reliablility at all.

Well done!
